As you enter White Pines, a little hamlet adjacent to the town of Arnold off Blagen Road, you may see a small sign proclaiming, “White Pines is not Arnold.”  Although the two communities share a zip code, White Pines has a proud history all its own.

This historic town was founded in 1938, when Frank Blagen relocated his lumber mill and timber harvesting operations which brought many early residents to town.  The mill closed in 1962 and was dismantled in 1966.  They dammed San Antonio Creek to create the 26-acre White Pines Lake to attract homebuyers.

Only a mile from Arnold, White Pines Lake is a nice place to spend a restful day fishing.  No motorized boats are allowed on the lake, but little hand-launched fishing boats, float tubes, canoes and kayaks are perfect for the small lake.  The lake is home to both trout and bass.  

Facilities and recreation opportunities include:  The Sierra Nevada Logging Museum, White Pines Lake, beautiful lakeside park, the Moose Lodge, Courtright-Emerson community baseball field and Hazel Fischer Elementary School (K-5).

White Pines is community activism and pride all rolled into one special and active neighborhood.  This small housing area is perfect for full time families with kids who can walk to school.
