Snowshoe Springs is a small distinct subdivision in California's legendary Sierra Nevada Mountains that is comprised of about 360 parcels. It was an island of summer cabins until Big Trees Village was developed by American Forest Products and fully surrounded it by what is known as Dorrington and Camp Connell.
John A. “Snowshoe” Thompson, was the “mailman of the Sierra.” Mr. John Thompson carried mail from Placerville, California through treacherous winter storms for 20 years, twice a month. "Snowshoe Thompson" was famed in our area as well as others. The Association is named in part, for him.
Snowshoe Springs recreation opportunities for owners and paid guests include a large pristine meadow as well as “Snowshoe Lake” which is secluded and tucked among the trees. The HOA bill, includes both recreation and water together for a nominal fee. If you like quaint neighborhoods and a cooler elevation (approx. 5,000 ft) and a snowy winter wonderland, then Snowshoe Springs is a terrific option for you.
